Who are the candidates?
Facelift is that the right procedure for you if you have:
- Saggy cheek skin
- Deep nasolabial folds
- Loose neck and face skin
- Prominent neck bands
- Realistic Expectations
What happens during the procedure?
Patient will be given a medicine to fall asleep (general anesthetic) and patient may also be given a medicine to relax (sedative).
Your health care provider will make an incision in your face or neck. The incisions could also be made above, ahead of, or round the ear, and along the hairline on your neck. The number of incisions, size of the incisions, and exact place where the incisions are going to be made will depend upon your specific needs.
Your skin is separated and lifted from your face and neck. Fat beneath skin may be removed or moved. Muscles and SMAS beneath your skin may be tightened. Your skin will then be pulled and lifted. Excess skin will be removed.
Filling of all the depleted fat compartments with fat from tummy/thigh/flanks.
The incisions will be closed with absorbable stitches or adhesive strips.
What are the risks?
Generally, this is a safe procedure. However, problems may occur, including:
- Bleeding.
- Infection.
- Scarring.
- Numbness or weakness in your face.
- Hair loss.
- Pain.
- Swelling.
- Darkening or lightening of the skin.
- Pockets of fluid beneath the skin.
