Then Arm lift are often good procedure for you.
Arm lift / Brachioplasty may be a procedure which removes excess fat and loose skin from under
arms. Therefore, Arm lift combines liposuction alongside removal of skin to offer you a contoured arm. The procedure gives you a more toned and confident look. Dr Rajendra S Gujjalanavar is specialized in doing latest method of arm lift.
What happens during the procedure?
Patient will be given a medicine to fall asleep (general anesthetic) and patient may also be given a medicine to relax (sedative).
In young people with elastic skin and little or no wrinkling at the height of the upper arms (arm-pit
level), liposculpturing alone can suffice. This allows the excess fat to be sucked away and we count on the elasticity of the skin to adapt to the new arm volume.
When there is also a major skin relaxation and the skin is no longer so elastic, a tight upper arm can only be achieved by removing the flabby skin.
This is almost always combined with a liposculpture. Through an incision that starts in the armpit and runs from the inside of the upper arm, the excess skin is removed.
The incision is largely subcutaneously sutured, leaving no tension on the skin. In most cases, this guarantees a pencil line-thin pale scar, which is only visible from close by.
What are the risks?
One might face temporary side effects such as bruising, swelling, tightness, light bleeding, numbness and a tingling sensation. Most of these settle by about 2-3 weeks.
When can I see the results of my arm lift?
Once the swelling subsides, you’ll notice the results. It may take up to 2-3 months to ascertain full results of the surgery.
When can I resume my daily activities?
Arm lift is day care procedure. You can resume your daily activities from the next day. Desk jobs can be begun about 2-3 days after the surgery. Cardio exercise can be started from 1 week and heavy weight training should be avoided for at least 3-4 weeks.
Will I have a scar?
Scarring is normal in any surgical procedure. The scars are however not visible if you stand
straight, but will be visible if you raise your arms above your head. As the time goes by, the scars will fade to a large extent.
Is the result permanent?
If your weight remains stable and proper diet and exercise regime is followed, the results are long
lasting.
